Where as most top MBA’s, in the US and Europe, provide great benefit both in terms of skills, networking, socially etc. they are still all variations on a theme. Mike provides a program which is completely different, and is real Mentorship and measured in real world success not about degrees (even though it is still filled with a highly developed structure, the ‘university of life’ is the biggest test of all). Although he has the experience of teaching at renowned institutions like MIT Sloan School, LBS etc., he has created a training program that provides so much more for a person trying to truly add value to the world. Few people have created multibillion pound businesses, fewer still have done it repeatedly, but Mike’s talent doesn’t stop there. He has a unique gift of being an accomplished leader and businessman, with excellent teaching skills, the ability to have identified what made him successful so he can teach others and the generosity to help others when most in his position would be too busy to do so. His style of business is is also one which the world is in increasing need of … it is a down to earth, grounded style but with a visionary and aspirational aspect, based on the belief that people have so much unrealized potential if they only knew. Most importantly he does it all with a warmth and humanity which really raises everyone’s game and inspires the group. I first read his book ‘find your lightbulb’ and realized Mike’s approach to business was a refreshing change to the more restricted approach taught even at the world’s top universities (which I have also been privileged to experience first hand). But going on this course takes everything to a totally different level. He is committed to raise your game and with it you, to a level you perhaps only dared dream of but not shared with others, and which can only be nurtured in a genuinely caring environment. With the involvement of his family on the training team it also creates a uniquely warm atmosphere. I’m really not sure how he does it all, but given the benefits he could have charged 5 times as much and it would still be a bargain. (In fact price sensitive people may have more easily appreciated its value that way). But that of course isn’t Mike’s way. He’s looking for people to transform the world. He knows how to mentor you in creating a multi-billion pound business, but more importantly wants you to always do it for something much bigger than that – and so didn’t want people to be priced out. Limited spaces means that many who apply may not get on the course; but even the interview will be used by Mike as an opportunity to help develop your business and idea. As he said when we first spoke “I’ll ask you lots of questions as we go through things, as in the process I’ll be making your explanation into a perfect pitch”. Fortunately he accepted me on the program, but even if he hadn’t I would have left inspired and with a more clear pitch. I cannot recommend this mentorship program enough, for you will grow hugely personally and professionally, while finding yourself part of a real family of visionary entrepreneurs.
Probably the best way to sum up the atmosphere in the mentorship is with a Martha Graham quote that Mike shared with us all …
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.”
